I’m Mischa Foster Poole, a private tutor based in Dulwich, London, with a deep passion for unlocking students’ potential in English and beyond. My academic journey began at Oxford University, where I earned a BA in English Language & Literature, followed by an MA in Creative Writing (Poetic Practice) from Royal Holloway. I also hold a CertTESOL qualification from Trinity College London, which has sharpened my ability to adapt lessons to individual learning styles. My teaching philosophy centres on developing the intellectual habits and skills that go beyond the classroom—helping students read critically, analyse arguments, spot logical inconsistencies, and express themselves with precision. Whether it’s dissecting Shakespeare for GCSE students, refining essay-writing techniques for A-Levels, or nurturing creative writers, I focus on bespoke one-to-one lessons tailored to each student’s needs. I work with students from diverse backgrounds, from those struggling to grasp exam syllabuses to high achievers aiming to refine their craft. My approach avoids the constraints of traditional classrooms, prioritising intellectual curiosity and long-term skill development.
