Kate Norris

I am a professional musician and vocal tutor based in Bristol, with over 20 years of genre-varied performance experience. Classically trained with grades in singing, music theory, clarinet and saxophone, I transitioned from opera and musical theatre into alternative and popular music. I have performed with bands at major events including the National Rock and Pop Festival, Royal Cornwall Show and Quinphonic Festival, and have featured on session tracks. Previous bands include folk duo Kvist, function band Franssen Effect and Bristol melodic metal band Control The Storm. Currently, I front Bristol-based function band HoneyFunk and psychedelic rock band Neuromatic. Since 2008, I have taught vocals and performance at institutions such as The Academy of Music and Sound, dBs Music and BIMM. My approach combines stylistic vocal technique with practical stagecraft advice, helping students navigate the music industry with realistic expectations. Lessons are tailored to individual goals, whether for exams, performances or personal development.
