I’m Ian Marsh, a professional music teacher with 18 years of experience providing guitar, bass, piano, keyboard and music theory lessons in Barnsley and South Yorkshire. I teach in local schools as well as offering private tuition from my home near Barnsley town centre, which is easily accessible by public transport with parking nearby. My music room includes a comfortable waiting area for parents and other students. I offer one-to-one tuition in all styles of music, from classical to rock, blues to jazz, and everything in between. Exam preparation is available for ABRSM and Rockschool, with a 100% pass rate across both boards. Whether you want to learn songs for fun or gain qualifications to support university applications, I tailor lessons to your goals. With over 20 years playing guitar and nearly 30 years as a pianist, I’ve helped students achieve their musical ambitions, from mastering techniques to performing like their favourite artists.
