I am a qualified maths teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching secondary school children and adults. I started training to be a Mathematics Teacher in September 2002 and attained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in July 2003, teaching Mathematics for students aged 11 to 16 in four different schools in Birmingham and Northampton. In May 2006, I launched my private tuition business, Northampton Maths Tutor, offering one-to-one tuition in a quiet space with tailored learning resources. I have tutored students aged 8 to 50 with diverse needs, from boosting confidence in school maths to preparing for GCSE retakes. Prior to teaching, I worked as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, having graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire. In 2017, I completed a BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Statistics degree with the Open University, achieving a first-class honours. My approach focuses on individual attention and feedback to help students progress, whether they need exam support or career-related maths skills.
