I'm an experienced secondary school History teacher and currently Head of History at a school in East Sussex. I've taught students across a wide range of ages and abilities, helping them develop their historical knowledge, confidence and examination skills.

Since 2019, I've also worked as an examiner for Edexcel A Level History. This gives me a valuable insight into how examination answers are assessed, what makes a successful response and where students commonly lose marks.

Throughout my teaching career, I've supported students preparing for GCSE and A Level examinations, as well as mentoring and coaching trainee teachers. I understand that every student learns differently, and I believe that building confidence is just as important as developing subject knowledge.

My teaching style is friendly, patient and structured. I use clear explanations, questioning and practical examples to make complex historical ideas accessible, while encouraging students to think critically and develop their own arguments.

History is a subject I'm passionate about, and I enjoy helping young people discover that it is much more than learning facts and dates. Above all, I want students to enjoy the subject, believe in their abilities and develop the skills they need to succeed.
