Academic Profile

I have classroom teaching experience across Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-level, specialising in History, Religious Studies and Government & Politics.

I have covered the AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas examination specifications, including examiner work marking AQA and Edexcel papers, and hold QTS. This provides a practical understanding of assessment objectives, mark schemes, grade descriptors and the standards required to achieve higher marks.

My KS3 teaching record includes assessment attainment exceeding 80% among more than 52% of the cohort.

My tuition is academically focused and structured around measurable progress. Initial sessions establish the child’s current level of attainment, subject knowledge and areas requiring improvement. Subsequent lessons concentrate on closing knowledge gaps, strengthening analytical and evaluative skills, and developing precise examination technique.

For GCSE and A-level studies, particular emphasis is placed on assessment objectives, essay structure, source evaluation, argument development and examiner expectations. The child is taught to understand not only the subject content but also how to demonstrate that knowledge effectively under examination conditions.
