Why are fewer tutors finding work through marketplaces in 2026?
Because several of the platforms tutors have relied on for years have closed or paused. First Tutors shut down permanently in 2026 after more than 20 years. Tutorful is not currently accepting new tutor applications. With fewer marketplace doors open, more parent demand is landing on open directories instead, where any tutor can list and be found.
