I'm a Year 13 A-Level Mandarin student with multiple years of experience teaching spoken Mandarin Chinese to Key Stage 3 students. With a predicted A* in A-Level Mandarin and my previous experience helping secondary school pupils, my lessons are primarily aimed at students from Year 7 - Year 11.

I aim to help students build confidence and conversational fluency in Mandarin, while developing their written and spoken Chinese and strengthening their understanding through reading and listening practice. I can adapt lessons to suit each student's level and goals, whether they are looking to improve their confidence in speaking, consolidate what they learn at school or even prepare for a GCSE Mandarin or HSK exam.

I am also a student of the Mandarin Excellence Programme (MEP) and volunteer with KS3 MEP students, where I help pupils improve their spoken Mandarin and conversational skills. This experience has given me a good understanding of the challenges non-native students face when learning Mandarin and has helped me develop an encouraging and practical approach to teaching.

My lessons focus on making Mandarin useful, engaging and approachable, with many opportunities for students to practise speaking and conversing rather than purely memorising vocab lists and grammar structures.
