About me

I am a UK-qualified teacher with a PGCE from the University of Southampton (2019) and over 21 years’ experience teaching and tutoring Mathematics and Science. I specialise in KS3, GCSE and A-Level Maths, Chemistry and Physics, as well as KS3/GCSE Biology (excluding A-Level Biology).

I have taught in schools including UTC Reading, The Vyne School in Basingstoke, Perins School, PTS Petersfield and Park House School, as well as teaching Mathematics at Winton Academy in Andover. I am therefore very familiar with the expectations of UK secondary education and examinations.

My academic background is in Chemical Engineering, with BSc and MSc degrees in Chemical Process Engineering. This strong subject knowledge, combined with extensive classroom experience, enables me to explain difficult concepts clearly and build students’ confidence.

I have experience with AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas and use a structured, exam-focused approach. I identify gaps in understanding, develop a clear step-by-step plan and use past papers, targeted practice and regular assessment to help students improve their grades and exam technique.

Every student is different, so I tailor lessons to their ability, learning style and individual goals. I also have experience supporting SEN students, including those with dyslexia, autism, Asperger’s and ADHD, as well as home-schooled and international students preparing for IGCSEs.

My aim is not only to improve grades, but to develop confident, independent and motivated learners.
