About

I’m Shazad Butt, a fully qualified mathematics teacher with over 13 years of experience, specialising in GCSE and A-Level tuition. Based in Acocks Green, Birmingham, I offer one-to-one maths support designed to build confidence and understanding in students who need extra help. My teaching approach is patient, clear, and encouraging—I believe in making mathematics accessible without compromising on rigour. I’ve worked as a Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 Coordinator in outstanding state schools, which has given me deep insight into the exam boards, including Edexcel, AQA, and OCR. Whether your child needs help with foundation or higher-tier GCSE maths, or is tackling A-Level topics, I tailor my lessons to their specific needs. Before committing to regular tuition, I offer a free, no-obligation 30-minute trial session where students and parents can meet me, ask questions, and see if my teaching style suits them. Many of my students have gone on to achieve top grades, like Jamilla, who secured a Grade 8 (A*) after working with me and is now studying A-Level Maths with me. My lessons include past paper practice, targeted feedback, and strategies to tackle exam questions effectively. I teach from my home in Acocks Green, with options for group sessions if you prefer a shared learning environment. My rates reflect my experience and the quality of support I provide, ensuring you get value for money. If you’re looking for a dedicated, reliable tutor who genuinely cares about your progress, I’d love to help.
