A Level Maths and Further Maths tutor (as well as TMUA, STEP, and some undergraduate level Maths)
I have five years tutoring experience of GCSE Mathematics, as well as A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics (Edexcel, OCR and MEI). In addition, I have ten years experience supporting students with mathematics admissions tests (TMUA and STEP, and previously MAT), both at the school I work at, as well as privately.
I am fully DBS checked as my regular day job is as a teacher at the specialist maths school "King`s College London Mathematics School", where I have worked for ten years teaching A Level Computer Science. My role has also involved mathematics outreach for y10 and y11 students. We take a very socratic and collaborative approach to learning, where we encourage students to explore rather than just "telling them the answer", which also feeds through into my tutoring style.
Before working in a school, I studied for a PhD in Mathematics (Algebraic Number Theory), where I took on a range of tutorials for undergraduate mathematics students. These were mainly based on 1st and 2nd year modules, covering introductory calculus, analysis, linear and abstract algebra, and statistics.
I am currently open to tutoring Maths and Computer Science at GCSE and A Level, maths university entrance tests such as TMUA and STEP, as well as select university maths modules (mainly in pure maths and other first year courses).
Over the summer, I am much more flexible with tutoring sessions, particularly in August. However, during the school term time, I mainly offer weekend sessions (with weekday evenings open to negotiation).
I am most easily contactable via WhatsApp ([contact via the enquiry form]) as well as email ([contact via the enquiry form]).
