Henrietta Barnett uses a two-round system: a first-round GL Assessment paper covering English, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning, with the top-scoring girls invited to a second round of school-set English and maths papers. The Latymer School tests GL maths and verbal reasoning plus a school-set English paper with comprehension and creative writing.

QE Boys allocates its 180 places purely by test score with no catchment, so it draws applicants from across London and the Home Counties. Henrietta Barnett receives around 2,000 applications for roughly 93 places and gives some priority within a three-mile area.
